Description
In the forest surrounding the Lange Paal and also in the adjacent dunes, interesting birds such as budníček pruhohlavý and kos horský are often encountered during bird migration. A short walk through the surrounding forest is worthwhile. In the forest you can see birds such as sluka lesní, krahujec obecný, jestřáb lesní, strakapoud velký, sýkora uhelníček, pěnice černohlavá, králíček obecný and králíček ohnivý.

Nederlands: De Lange Paal is een natuurkampeerplaats op Vlieland. Rondom het terrein ligt een klein mooi bos met fraaie aangrenzende duinen. In het bos bij de Lange Paal, maar ook in de aangrenzende duinen en op de grasvelden worden in de vogeltrektijd vaak interessante vogels als budníček pruhohlavý en kos horský aangetroffen. Via een korte wandeling van 2 km kun je het hele gebied verkennen. In het bos kun je vogels tegenkomen als sluka lesní, krahujec obecný, jestřáb lesní, strakapoud velký, sýkora uhelníček, pěnice černohlavá, králíček obecný en králíček ohnivý.

Access
Vlieland can be reached by ferry from Harlingen. Several boats leave per day and the crossing takes about an hour and a half (see link for ferry tickets below). De Lange Paal is 3 km by bike from the village of Oost-Vlieland. The indicated circular walk on the map is about 2 km.
