Description
Landgoed Oostbroek is an old landlord's domain thus it has some park estatics, but there is also a lot of wet forests where not a lot of human interference is taking place. Because of the many landscape elements there are surprisingly many species for the small patch of land. In the forest you can find many common forest species like brhlík lesní, sýkora babka, sýkora koňadra and strakapoud velký. In the creek we find a lot of kachna divoká, kopřivka obecná, lyska černá and potápka malá. But species like the volavka popelavá, volavka bílá, polák velký, žluna zelená are also present. The káně lesní nests in the woods and occasionally has some conflicts with the vrána černá or jestřáb lesní. In the summer rákosník obecný nests in the reed fields where also a lot of roe deer can be found. Also interesting is the high chance of an encounter with the grass snake who is very present in the creeks.

Nederlands: Landgoed Oostbroek is een kleine natuurparel gelegen naast het Utrecht Science Park. Het landgoed was het domein van een oude landheer en heeft daarom veel weg van een park. Maar er zijn ook veel natte bossen waar niet veel menselijk ingrijpen plaatsvindt. Door de vele landschapselementen zijn er verrassend veel soorten voor het kleine stukje land. In het bos vind je veel voorkomende bossoorten zoals brhlík lesní, sýkora babka, sýkora koňadra en strakapoud velký. In de sloten en waterpartijen vind je veel kachna divoká, kopřivka obecná, lyska černá en potápka malá. Maar ook soorten als de volavka popelavá, volavka bílá, polák velký en žluna zelená komen voor. De káně lesní nestelt in het bos en heeft af en toe conflicten met de vrána černá of jestřáb lesní. In de zomer nestelt rákosník obecný in de rietvelden waar ook veel reeën te vinden zijn. Interessant is ook de grote kans op een ontmoeting met een ringslang die zeer aanwezig is in de sloten.

Access
There is a little entrance from Utrechts Landschap at the Utrecht Science park side. You can only walk around in the little park, which is more than sufficient.
