Description

A mosaic of water, reed, swamp groves and grasslands in the excavated peat. That is De Deelen, in the heart of the province of Friesland. In autumn and winter, thousands of ducks and geese, including hvízdák eurasijský, husa běločelá, lžičák pestrý and berneška bělolící come to De Deelen. Rare species such as rybák černý, volavka červená and moták pochop also live in the area. If you listen carefully, you may be able to hear the cvrčilka zelená singing in the spring. Other birds you can see here are husa velká, kolpík bílý, slavík modráček, koliha velká, kachna divoká, polák chocholačka, polák velký, potápka roháč, káně lesní, berneška velká, strnad rákosní and rybák obecný.

Access

Small parking lot available. It is a walking area with some marked paths, Unfortunately also sometimes used by dog walkers. Has a small bird observatory. From the parking to the birdhide is about 1 km.
