Description
The Autrichepolder is a recently constructed water and marshland. From the canal dike you have a beautiful view over the area. It can be very rich in birds with large numbers of ducks and geese: kachna divoká, husice liščí, lžičák pestrý, kopřivka obecná, čírka obecná, polák chocholačka, husa velká, berneška velká and in winter husa běločelá and husta tundrová. Waders and meadow birds also know how to find the area, such as bekasina otavní, čejka chocholatá, ústřičník velký, tenkozobec opačný, vodouš rudonohý and occasionally kulík říční. In the summer you have a chance to see potápka černokrká.

Nederlands: De Autrichepolder is een recent aangelegde water- en moeraspartij. In 2002 is het natuurgebied aangelegd. Het gebied staat onder sterke invloed van kwel uit het kanaal van Gent naar Terneuzen. Vanaf de kanaaldijk heb je een prachtig zicht over het gebied. Het kan er zéér vogelrijk zijn met grote aantallen eenden en ganzen: kachna divoká, husice liščí, lžičák pestrý, kopřivka obecná, čírka obecná, polák chocholačka, husa velká, berneška velká en in de winter husa běločelá en husta tundrová. Ook steltklopers en weidevogels weten het gebied te vinden zoals bekasina otavní, čejka chocholatá, ústřičník velký, tenkozobec opačný, vodouš rudonohý en een enkele keer kulík říční. In de zomer heb je kans om potápka černokrká te zien.
