Description

The Padule di Fucecchio is the largest inland wetland in Italy. The Le Morette trail (percorso naturalistico) to the wetlands will take you through agricultural lands, a small woodland and out to the wetlands and flooded fields. This site makes for an excellent outing particularly to waterbirds, including shorebirds, herons, egrets as well as a nice mix of other birds. Among the birds you can see are pisila čáponohá, čejka chocholatá, břehouš černoocasý, jespák bojovný, pisík obecný, vodouš kropenatý, vodouš tmavý, vodouš šedý, vodouš bahenní, racek malý, rybák černozobý, rybák obecný, čáp bílý, bukáček malý, volavka červená, volavka bílá, volavka stříbřitá, volavka rusohlavá, volavka vlasatá, ibis hnědý, ibis posvátný, kvakoš noční and moták pochop.

Italiano: Il Padule di Fucecchio è la più grande zona umida interna d'Italia. Il sentiero Le Morette (percorso naturalistico) che conduce alle zone umide vi condurrà attraverso terreni agricoli, un piccolo bosco e fino alle zone umide e ai campi allagati. Questo sito rappresenta un'eccellente escursione in particolare per gli uccelli acquatici, tra cui limicoli, aironi, garzette e un bel mix di altri uccelli.

Access

The Riserva Naturale area Le Morette is easily accessible from Montecatini (12 km) and San Miniato (20 km). The main entrance is located in Castelmartini, in the municipality of Larciano (PT), along the Provinciale Francesca, continuing on Via delle Morette near the monument to the massacre of August 23, 1944, by artist Gino Terreni.

The wildlife observatory in the Le Morette area is always open in the external section and open with LIPU staff and telescopes on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm until sunset.

Italiano: La Riserva Naturale area Le Morette è facilmente raggiungibile da Montecatini (12 km) e San Miniato (20 km). L’accesso principale si trova a Castelmartini, nel Comune di Larciano (PT), lungo la Provinciale Francesca, proseguendo su Via delle Morette nei pressi del monumento all’eccidio del 23 agosto 1944 dell’artista Gino Terreni.

L’osservatorio faunistico dell’area Le Morette è sempre aperto nella parte esterna e aperto con personale Lipu e cannocchiali il sabato e la domenica ore 9.00-13.00 e 15.00 fino al tramonto.
