Laguna Veneta near Jesolo

The part of the lagoon that is located on the north-west side of Venice is a great place for birding. A very nice wetland full of waders and waterbirds.

Description

There are many species that can be observed in the laguna Veneta all seasons of the year. For some years there are also plameňák růžový breeding. Other special birds you could see here are sokol stěhovavý, mandelík hajní, kukačka chocholatá, husice rezavá, polák malý, volavka rusohlavá and koliha velká. A total amount of over 450 thousand waterfowl live throughout the lagoon. And today there are more than 8,000 plameňák růžový that winter in the lagoon.

This birdingplace has a rich birdlife, but there are only a few possibilities to view and no place to overlook the area. Most roads are closed for everyone.
