Description
Lago di Ospedaletto is a small pre-Alpine lake located near the hamlet of Ospedaletto and the town of Gemona del Friuli. The lake is located at the foot of gentle hills set in a landscape formed by woods alternating with grassy meadows. The constant presence of water and the relatively sheltered position attracts birds like Chřástal vodní, potápka roháč, ledňáček říční, kvakoš noční, bekasina otavní, včelojed lesní, konipas bílý and bukač velký. Other birds that can be seen in the surroundings are sup bělohlavý (from the nearby Cornino reserve), krutihlav obecný, strakapoud velký, žluna zelená, datel černý, kukačka obecná and krkavec velký.
