Description

The remote area of Hellisheiði near Ketilsstadhir is flat land overlooking a cliff. Very nice place for observing birds such as papuchalk severní, terej bílý, racek tříprstý, alka malá and alkoun úzkozobý.

Access

The best way to visit this site is to drive to the parking lot. From the parking you can explore the coast where the birds will be massively present from May to July. The route is remote from the Ring Road, but normally safe to drive roughly from May to September.

Breathtaking landscapes. When you cross the tundra there is also the possibility of crossing birds such as kulík zlatý or even chaluha příživná. You can also have the chance to come face to face with an arctic fox.
