Nagy-tó means Big Lake. In this large wetland next to the village of Tiszaalpár there is a big heron nesting colony in the willows-jungle around the Big Lake. Plenty of kvakoš noční, volavka rusohlavá, volavka stříbřitá, volavka bílá, volavka popelavá, volavka červená, kolpík bílý and volavka vlasatá nest in the area. But there are many other interesting birds to see like racek černohlavý, potápka rudokrká, morčák malý, orel mořský and linduška rudokrká.
