Small coastal wetland where you can see plameňák růžový. But also many waders and other coastal birds.
Agios Mamas marsh is a small coastal wetland, located between Kassandra and Sithonia peninsula. An important location for breeding and passage waders. The wetland has sand-dunes and reedbeds. Many species of birds live here. Two of them, for which the area is protected are ouhorlík stepní and pisila čáponohá. These species are breeding here every summer. In winter you can see the impressive flocks of plameňák růžový, which live there till spring. In 2020 plameňák růžový also started breeding in Agios Mama, about 180 nests have been recorded. In Agios Mamas you can also see other bird species, such as dudek chocholatý, vlaštovka skalní, strnad černohlavý, Chocholouš obecný, ťuhýk obecný, ťuhýk rudohlavý and many species of ducks, waders and birds of prey.
