The Wolbecker Tiergarten is one of the oldest forests in the Münsterland and covers an area of 288 hectares. The forest has numerous old oaks and beeches. And there is a big 'wilderness area'. In July 2010, a tornado swept through the southern area of the Wolbecker Tiergarten. A large part of the trees were damaged. Around 50 hectare of this area has been designated as a 'wilderness area' which is left to its own development. Drive by car or bus to the Wolbecker Tiergarten car park on Alverskirchener Straße. Click on the P in the map for directions. From the parking, walk along paved paths or paved forest paths. Riding a bike is also possible. There is a nature trail of 6.2 km with 16 information points.
