Description
The salt marshes and the sandbank at Westerheversand represent very diverse habitats. Many waders such as the jespák obecný, ústřičník velký, vodouš rudonohý can be observed. On the sandbank, a particularly large number of gulls and other resting birds can be seen. Notable are the břehouš rudý, kulík písečný, kulík mořský, rybák severní, rybák malý, jespák rezavý, orel mořský and others.
The warft with lighthouse is a fixed point for migratory birds during migration, so that some songbirds can also be observed here.
