The Groß Schauener Seenkette nature reserve, located around 50 kilometers south-east of Berlin, is a popular attraction for birders. Along a 2 km long trail and from a 12 meter high observation tower you can see birds like jeřáb popelavý, different kinds of ducks and geese, kormorán velký, slavík modráček, slavík obecný, rákosník proužkovaný, rákosník velký, moták pochop, luňák červený, luňák hnědý as well as orlovec říční and orel mořský. Access
On the A10 to the Spreeau motorway triangle, then continue on the A12 towards Frankfurt (Oder) to the Storkow exit. Continue on the B246 via Storkow to Groß Schauen. From the Köllnitz fishery near Groß Schauen on the B246, it's a 2-kilometer walk along the signposted hiking trail.
