Description

Fermasee and the floodplain of Altrhein Neuburgweier attract many birds. Parts of the lake are used by anglers and for bathing in summer. However, in winter the birds take the centre stage. There are often good numbers of polák chocholačka, polák velký, kopřivka obecná, kachna divoká and labuť velká. If you are lucky, you can also see hohol severní, zrzohlávka rudozobá and morčák malý here. Over the years, a number of rarer sea ducks and divers have been observed here, including turpan hnědý, morčák prostřední, potápka žlutorohá and potáplice malá.

The orchards and fields to the east of the lake are a good place to look out for drozd kvíčala, drozd cvrčala, havran polní and kavka obecná.
