Description
The typical species of a city can be seen at the Decksteiner Weiher in summer. On the lake berneška velká, husice nilská, potápka roháč and kachna divoká can be seen. Around the lake you can observe žluna zelená, stehlík obecný, strakapoud prostřední and much more. In winter, however, more rare duck species such as polák chocholačka, polák velký, kopřivka obecná and with a bit of luck also polák malý can be found.

Decksteiner Weiher is easy to reach by bike from Cologne (Köln). You can also get there easily by car. Click on a P in the map for directions to a parking. A circular walk around the lake is about 5 km.
