Description

Alte Elbe is an old arm of the river Elbe near the town of Gerwisch. Good chances to see orel mořský, orlovec říční and jeřáb popelavý. Many waterbirds, especially during migration time (e.g., volavka bílá, volavka popelavá, husa velká, husa polní, lžičák pestrý, čírka obecná, čírka modrá, labuť zpěvná, morčák malý, morčák velký, potápka roháč, potápka malá, čejka chocholatá, vodouš šedý, vodouš tmavý, jespák bojovný). In the adjacent areas luňák červený, luňák hnědý, poštolka obecná, datel černý, krutihlav obecný, and very occasionally vlha pestrá or dudek chocholatý can be seen.
