Description
At the river Ahr are breeding kulík říční and ledňáček říční. In the floodplains are meadows, forests and a little reedbed. In the meadows are breeding sýček obecný (10 territories in 2020). ťuhýk obecný and cvrčilka zelená are possible breeding birds. In the forests are breeding slavík obecný , Žluva hajní and strakapoud prostřední. You can also see luňák hnědý and ostříž lesní during breeding time. In the little reedbed are rákosník obecný and rákosník zpěvný (also common next to the Ahr). sedmihlásek švitořivý and sedmihlásek hajní can also be found in the area.
During migration, you can see migratory birds like orlovec říční and vodouš kropenatý. In winter you can see some wintering birds like skorec vodní.

Access
There is a train station in Linz (direct connections to Cologne and Koblenz), from where you have to cross the Rhine with the ferry to Kripp. Another train station is in Sinzig (direct connections to Bonn and Koblenz) from where you can go directly to the meadows at the southern edge of the area.
You can park in Kripp (follow the B9 until Kripp). The walking route you see on the map is about 7 km.
