Description
Birding in Chachuna Managed Reserve is a rewarding experience due to its exceptional variety of habitats that support a rich avian diversity. The area is renowned for its raptors, with sightings of orlík krátkoprstý, orel nejmenší, orel stepní and orel královský being common. Additionally, the nearby Dali Reservoir, surrounded by Tugai forests and sandy canyons, offers excellent opportunities to spot waterfowl like kormorán malý and zrzohlávka rudozobá, as well as the noisy frankolín obecný and various interesting warblers and wheatears. Chachuna Managed Reserve is located in the east of Georgia, near the border with Azerbaijan, within the floodplains of the Iori River. About 100 km east of Tblisi. The area is best to enter from the town of Dedoplistskaro.
