A wetland area at the Southern end of Lake Annecy.
Reserve Naturelle du Bout du Lac d'Annecy is one of only 2 remaining wild areas around the lake. A nice 3 km walk through reed beds and forest, with a viewing platform and ruined tower giving views over the lake. Busy with walkers in summer, but fairly quiet otherwise. Birds to see include potápka roháč, morčák velký, skorec vodní, kormorán velký (winter visitors), luňák červený (spring visitors). Best time to visit is in the winter, as the lake is busy with tourists in the summer.

From Annecy, drive along the Northern edge of the lake through Talloire. Parking at the Southern end of the reserve, signposted from the village of Verthier. Click on the P in the map for directions. No dogs allowed, entry is free.
