Description
The Observatoire du Col de Baracuchet is located near the summit of the Monts du Forez, not far from the Col de Baracuchet. The observatory was set up by the LPO (BirdLife France) and is a fabulous observation site on the Forez plain. It offers optimum conditions for observing the migration of the 250,000 birds that cross the pass each year, especially in October. Big numbers of holub hřivnáč fly across this pass and also many raptors.

Access
The site is located on the D113, between the Col de Baracuchet and Lérigneux. Click on the P in the map to get directions. The site has free access all year round. In October employees of the LPO Loire and volunteers are present daily at the migration site.
