Lac des prés Saint-Jean is a lake which in spring shelters a colony of herons with volavka rusohlavá, volavka stříbřitá and kvakoš noční. At the end of August until the middle of September an important dormitory of volavka rusohlavá is on the island of the lake. At the level of the largest buildings close to the lake, there is a colony of rorýs velký, rorýs obecný and jiřička obecná. During cold winters the lake is visited by many gulls as well as loons and grebes.
