Description
Étang du Boulet is located on an important migratory route. Due to its size and environment, it is an interesting site with different species of migratory birds. The species observed adapt remarkably well to the diversity of the environment: during the low-water period when the level is lowest: waders (jespák šedý, vodouš kropenatý, kulík písečný, kulík bledý), forest birds in the Bourgouët woods to the north of the pond. The winter period is ideal for observing passerines (pěnice černohlavá, konopka obecná, brhlík lesní), woodpeckers (strakapoud velký, strakapoud malý, datel černý) and raptors (včelojed lesní, orlovec říční, krahujec obecný).

L'étang se trouve sur une voie migratrice importante. De par sa taille et son environnement, il constitue un site intéressant pour accueillir différentes espèces d'oiseaux de passage.

Access
Étang du Boulet is located 25 km north of Rennes. Park in the parking lot of the nautical center at the place called La Bijouterie (access by the Marcillé-Raoul road). Press P on the map for directions to the parking. From the parking you can explore the area on foot. Take the path to the right of the beach. The circuit is a 6.2 km loop around the pond, allow 2 hours of walking to go around. The circuit is flat and easy.

Français: Se garer sur le parking aménagé de la base nautique au lieu-dit La Bijouterie (accès par le route de Marcillé-Raoul). Rejoindre le centre nautique et prendre le chemin à droite de la plage. Le circuit fait une boucle de 6.2 km autour de l'étang, prévoir 2h de marche pour faire le tour. Le circuit est plat et facile.
