Description

Le Lac de la Sorme is a large reservoir north of Montceau-les-Mines. The dam was completed in 1971 on the course of the river Sorme in order to regulate flows and build up a drinking water reserve. The lake is most interesting for birding during the migration period and in winter you can easily observe orlovec říční or different species of divers such as potáplice lední. In spring and summer it is especially interesting for observing bukáček malý.
