Description
One of the most important wetlands in the central part of Kosovo is the wetland site of Henc. It was artificially created in the late sixties, aiming at the cultivation of fish. The wetland was created by the conflux of Magura and Vrella water flows, which are branches of Sitnica River. With the surface of 74 ha, biodiversity in the Henc wetland is considered quite rich compared to its size. It attracts many birds. Among the birds you can see in the area are čírka modrá, lžičák pestrý, polák velký, polák malý, pisila čáponohá, rybák bahenní, kormorán malý, bukač velký, bukáček malý, volavka červená, volavka vlasatá, kvakoš noční, moudivláček lužní, strnad luční, moták lužní, moták pochop, rákosník tamaryškový and rákosník velký.
