Description

Lake Langano is a large lake of 18 km long and 16 km wide with a typical colour. The water has a distinctive milky‑brown colour, the result of minerals suspended in it. Its shoreline shifts between open beaches, patches of acacia, and stretches of forest. Hippos move through the shallows, and the surrounding woodland holds monkeys, baboons and warthogs. The birdwatching is easy and relaxed around the lake. More than three hundred bird species have been recorded.
