The lodge is located in the cloud forest at an altitude of 2,731 m, Cordillera de Talamanca, Cerro de Muerte. Ideal for bird watching and photography.
Paraiso Quetzal Lodge is surrounded by 80 hectares of primary forest that protects an impressive flora and fauna, where more than 140 species of birds have been recorded. Many of which are unique like the magical Resplendent Quetzal. A walk through the complex is also worthwhile. All this makes it a unique place for observers and nature lovers. There are many feeding stations at the lodge where the birds can be observed and photographed. The lodge also organizes a number of bird and wildlife viewing tours.
During my visit I photographed the following birds: Lesser Violetear, Fiery-throated Hummingbird, Long-tailed Silky-flycatcher, Scintillant Hummingbird and Rivoli's Hummingbird. Photos are posted below.
