Description
The landscape around Ivaylovgrad Reservoir has a mosaic of habitats consisting of bushes, trees and grassy vegetation on the bank of this large fresh-water body with shallow water along the banks. An interesting combination of dry habitats and a wetland. In spring and summer the site can produce good views of pěnice vlašská and pěnice dlouhozobá. During the migration periods (March-May and July-October) čírka modrá, pisila čáponohá, tenkozobec opačný, vodouš kropenatý and other birds can be observed. In winter time labuť velká, husice liščí, morčák velký and other waterfowl is possible.
Other birds that can been observed include volavka vlasatá, sup bělohlavý, luňák hnědý, orel mořský, sýček obecný, dudek chocholatý, vlha pestrá, strakapoud malý, Žluva hajní, ťuhýk obecný, ťuhýk rudohlavý, skřivan lesní, sedmihlásek olivový, vlaštovka skalní, slavík obecný, Black-headed wagtail, strnad černohlavý and strnad luční.

Access
Ivaylovgrad Reservoir is located near the village of Borislavtsi. The area is easy accessable, it is possible to stop near the road (road is far from busy), near a water spring. Press P on the map for directions. Very scarce public transport (once-twice a day). Easy to walk and explore quite a large area around. It is safe to leave the car near the road. In general you can see most of the birds in the area in one to one and a half hours.
