The place is quiet and lies next to the river Schelde in an open area where it is nice to walk and/or cycle. The area attracts herons, waders and other water birds. Breeding birds are tenkozobec opačný and rybák obecný. Furthermore you can often see kolpík bílý. From the dyke, the following rarities can be observed periodically: bukač velký, chřástal kropenatý, chřástal malý, poštolka rudonohá and volavka červená.
