Description
Even the industrial/urban area in the north of this region harbours quite some good species in winter, like hvízdák eurasijský, kopřivka obecná, polák chocholačka and polák velký. They can be common near te sewage works, as do gulls potápka malá and husa velká.
In recent years bukač velký has become almost annual (often more then one) and some years sýkořice vousatá turns up. There's a big breeding population of rákosník obecný (>20 pairs) as do cetie jižní and strnad rákosní in small numbers. In some years even slavík modráček breeds here.
The meadow areas further to the south, especially those along the railway hold most of the time waders in late winter and spring. břehouš černoocasý, vodouš bahenní, vodouš kropenatý, jespák bojovný, kulík říční (breeds some years), jespák obecný, bekasina otavní, slučka malá and others are seen annual. In winter this area often holds linduška horská. In wet years species as čírka modrá and lžičák pestrý can be breeding here. Irregular breeders are strnad rákosní, cetie jižní and bramborníček černohlavý.
The area more to the south can hold ledňáček říční, konipas horský, bramborníček černohlavý and the same species mentioned earlier, but chances on these are more remote.
