Description

The 12 hectares of the area consist of four former fish ponds in the Molenbeek valley. The ponds have been managed in a nature-friendly way for ten years. They are a good place to make the first spring observations of potápka malá , potápka roháč , ledňáček říční , rákosník obecný , kormorán velký . During the winter half-year, in addition to modest numbers of polák chocholačka, polák velký, čírka obecná are present. Other species are seen to a lesser extent kopřivka obecná, lžičák pestrý, čírka modrá , bukáček malý.

In recent years many rareties were seen during migration, like potápka černokrká, potápka rudokrká, bukač velký, moudivláček lužní, turpan černý ,volavka vlasatá.

By car: Park Abbey, Abdij van Park 7, 3001 Leuven. And then walking. The circular route (see the map) is about 2.5 km.
