This valley with its surrounding mountains is a wonderful place to observe alpine species like orlosup bradatý, břehule skalní and pěvuška podhorní.
The Pitztal valley is criss-crossed by a small river where you can make wonderful observations of skorec vodní, konipas horský, břehule skalní and pisík obecný. All year round you can see species around the valley like orlosup bradatý flying over the valley and Ořešník kropenatý, žluna šedá, orel skalní and datel černý. On top the Pitztaler Glacier you can find species like pěvuška podhorní, pěnkavák sněžný, kavče žlutozobé and bělokur horský.
The Pitztal is located 70 km southwest of Innsbruck. You can explore the vally by car and the slopes of the forest on foot. In the towns you can park and then watch birds. From the town of Mittelberg you can take the train which goes through the mountain on top of the Pitztal Glacier. From there you can explore the area on foot. Or you can take the lift up to a restaurant.
