This small lake holds a handful of waterfowl and during migration is always good for a suprise. It lies at the end of plain of Wauwil.

Description

Mauensee is a beautiful lake, complete with a little island boasting it’s own castle. There’s a trail leading around the lake (3,3 km). It's a beautiful walk very close to Sursee. White Stork, Grey Heron are breeding birds here. During migration anything is possible.

Among the birds you can see in winter are Northern Shoveler, Common Goldeneye and Goosander.

Access

Best accessible by bike but also by car. You can park in the parking are of the Baumeisterzentrum and then walk to the lake.
