Small nature reserve with an interesting variety of birds and a reintroduction project for Eurasian Hoopoe.
Acherbiela is a small nature reserve. The Eurasian Hoopoe is being reintroduced in the area. Spring migration often offers surprises ( Tawny Pipit, Red-footed Falcon, Eurasian Skylark and Wood Lark). In winter sometimes Red-billed Chough and Ring Ouzel. Golden Eagle and Bearded Vulture are also possible when the weather is bad. Beautiful circular route over dry steppe with nature-friendly agriculture. Among the birds you can see in the area are Eurasian Hoopoe, Common Redstart, Eurasian Scops Owl, Yellow-billed Chough, Red-billed Chough, Golden Eagle, Eurasian Green Woodpecker, Western Bonelli's Warbler, Mistle Thrush and Long-tailed Tit.
Public transport: Bus from Brig train station to Brig Biela. Then walk about 30 minutes in the direction of Termen. Circular walking route from the bus between 1.5 and 2.5 hours, depending on the route.
