Description

Lake Vombsjön is a quite deep lake (max 15 meters) and is an important resting place for birds. In winter, large numbers of waterbirds stay around the lake. Then there are also good chances to see White-tailed Eagle. Summer: At low water levels, waders can rest, mainly in the northwestern part. During the late summer, Caspian Tern regularly fish in the lake. Among the other birds you can encounter are Great Cormorant, Common Tern, Common Shelduck, Red Kite, Eurasian Wigeon, Common Goldeneye, Goosander, Common Pochard and Tufted Duck. A trail takes you around Lake Vombsjön.

Access

A 22 km circular trail runs around this lake in Skåne. The trail is great for birding and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. But for most people 22 km is too long, if you only walk a part of the trail, the northeast section of the lake is a good choice.
