Lighthouse on an island with barren outer archipelago nature.
Storkläppen is a small island with a former manned lighthouse station located in the Tjust archipelago. The area around Storkläppen is known for its rugged beauty and is a popular spot for boating. The island is barren with a few small bushes in the crevices of the rocks. Nice cove between Stor- and Västerkläppen where ducks and waders forage.
Storkläppen is located in the Tjust archipelago in Småland's northern archipelago, northeast of Västervik. Te only way to reach Storkläppen is by boat. You can either rent a boat or join a guided tour from Västervik. There is a pier in the lagoon. During the summer months, there are ferry services that operate between Västervik and the outer islands of the archipelago.
