An island in lake Storsjön that can be seen from the mainland.
Getnäset is an island in the big lake of Storsjön. The best time is when the ice melts and the lake bottom is exposed, usually in early May. Then a large number of ducks, waders and Common Crane gather here to forage before moving on. Among the birds you can see are Ruff, Spotted Redshank, Red-necked Phalarope, Northern Pintail, Common Scoter and Velvet Scoter.
Ask people in the village permission for a suitable parking spot. From the lakeshore you can scan the area with binoculars or a spotting scope.
