Description

Around Katunić you can see many species of birds. The road that gets you there is already very bird rich. Along the mountain path you can see Nutcracker, Black Woodpecker, Grey-headed Woodpecker, Eurasian Nuthatch, Hazel Grouse and many other birds. At the plateau you can see European Stonechat, Eurasian Kestrel, Eurasian Hobby, Corn Crake and some others. At the mountain top there are some rocky areas where you can see Northern Wheatear, Rock Partridge, Lesser Kestrel, Griffon Vulture, Common Rock Thrush, Red-throated Pipit and Short-toed Snake Eagle.

Access

You can park at the mountain lodge and then hike from there. Also there are some ways of getting to the plateau by car but for thaty a 4x4 terrain car is needed. Click on the P in the map to get directions to the mountain lodge.
