Description

Lagoas do Tâmega is a birdrich wetland area. The Tâmega Lagoons did not form naturally, but due to the exploration of sand and subsequent abandonment of extraction. 170 bird species have already been identified. Among the birds you can see in the area are European Turtle Dove, Little Bittern, Black-winged Kite, Eurasian Hoopoe, Common Kingfisher, Eurasian Hobby, Golden Oriole, Iberian Grey Shrike, Melodious Warbler, Sardinian Warbler, Great Crested Grebe, Osprey, Great Cormorant, Booted Eagle, Great Egret, Common Snipe and Rock Sparrow.
