Wetland and peat bog with inland dunes covered with forest with an area of 20 hectares.
Silne Błota has a water reservoir that was created as a result of peat exploitation in the nineteenth century and during World War II. The area of the open water surface is no more than 30% of the total surface. The remaining part is mainly overgrown. A small fragment is occupied by currant alder. The surroundings of the area are – from the north side, a pine forest growing on a complex of inland dunes, while from the south the land of the village of Kwilno – once meadows and pastures, today mainly wastelands. In Silne Błota you can observe birds like Бугай водяний, Журавель сірий, Орлан-білохвіст, Лунь очеретяний, Лелека білий and Підсоколик великий.
Silne Błoty is located 25 km north of the city of Łódź. You can get best to the area by your own car. Taking the bus from Łódź is also possible, but the nearest bus stop is located about 7 km from the area. You can walk around the area on paved and unpaved rural roads, circling the area is about 5 km (see the map). Cycling is another option. The "Battle of the Bzura" (Bitwy nad Bzurą) bicycle trail runs through Silne Błoty.
