In the Westerheide Mezei pacsirta are still numerous and during the migration period a stretch of meadow is used by Örvös rigó and buntings. cigánycsuk can be found on every protruding stem and in summer Kabasólyom can be seen hunting on a variety of dragonflies. Recently, Lappantyú have started to sing occasionally in this heath area.

Parking can be done at Hilversumseweg 50, Hilversum (La Place restaurant). From the parking lot you can follow several routes onto the heath. Click on the P in the map to get directions. The suggested walking route on the Birdingplaces-map below is about 6,5 km long.
