Kattenleger is an area where interesting birds are regularly observed. Despite the close proximity of the A15 motorway and the Betuwe railway line, the reed areas in particular offer a chance for nice species such as bukač velký and sýkořice vousatá. You will almost certainly encounter strnad rákosní, stehlík obecný, rákosník obecný and Slípka zelenonohá but also a chance of Chřástal vodní, moták pochop and potápka malá.

Nederlands: Kattenleger is een gebied met rietvelden, weiland en een boomsingel langs Betuwe-spoorlijn waar regelmatig interessante vogelsoorten worden waargenomen. Ondanks nabije aanwezigheid van snelweg A15 en de Betuwe-spoorlijn bieden met name de rietgebieden kans op leuke soorten als bukač velký en sýkořice vousatá. Vrijwel zeker kom je strnad rákosní, stehlík obecný, rákosník obecný en Slípka zelenonohá tegen, maar ook kans op Chřástal vodní, moták pochop en potápka malá.

The area is only accessible by bicycle or on foot. You can park on the edge: from Bemmel, drive into the Plakse Uitweg (dead end) and park at the end. Click on the P in the map for directions.
