Description

The Stelvio Pass is a mountain pass in northern Italy bordering Switzerland at an elevation of 2,757 m above sea level. It is the highest paved mountain pass in the Eastern Alps, and the second highest in the Alps. On the point on the map you have a very good view on the Passo dello Stelvio. Directly after a little restaurant, where you can go by car. You sit on nearly 3000 m, surrounded by the beautiful alps and if you are lucky, the Bearded Vulture sails on the thermals right next to you. Also Golden Eagle, other raptors, Common Raven and many Yellow-billed Chough. On the rocky slopes you can easily find Rock Ptarmigan.
