Many water-dependent species, meadow birds and reed birds can be found in the Thürer meadows.
The meadows, ponds, marshes and reed beds of the Thürer Wiesen are home to many different rare breeding birds. European Turtle Dove, Common Nightingale, Grey Partridge, White Stork, European Stonechat, Little Owl, Savi's Warbler, Eurasian Tree Sparrow, Reed Warbler, Common Cuckoo andBlack Kite all breed in the area.
The Thürer Wiesen nature reserve is located southeast of the town of Thür. On the north side of the area is a small car park. Click on the P in the map for directions. It is possible to take a circular walk (about 5 km), although parts of it lead out of the actual area.
