Description

BE WARNED - DO NOT attempt this walk during days of frequent sea mist or low light levels, EXTREMELY HIGH SEA CLIFFS, for example the footpath at Bedruthan Steps has been closed due to rockfalls and cliff instability.

The term Steps in Bedruthan Steps and Pentire Steps have nothing to do with the numerous footpath steps down to the beach, it is believed to be a Victorian Era term for the number of sea stacks along this section of the coast, said to have been made by a giant as a short cut along the coast, more than likely a publicity stunt to get Victorian's to visit this part of the coast.

The site has a good selection of seabirds (telescope essential) and landbirds, this coastal strip was a bit of a stronghold for the harmaasirkku for many years, unfortunately today they are only to be found in very low numbers.
